In a few weeks The Mandalorian launches on the new Disney Plus streaming platform. Many fans want a Star Wars galaxy with even more violence and action. Apparently, the mouse company also has exactly the next plan. The latest trailer shows that Disney is really serious about the new series.
It has long been known that The Mandalorian wants to tackle the Star Wars universe differently. Above all, Disney wants to draw more heavily on Western elements. The latest trailer of the series also conveys influences of gangster films and even detective noirs. It is already clear that in the future, the Star Wars universe will be dirtier. At the same time, the whole thing is underlined by stylized images and chic landscape shots. Overall, the trailer reminds qualitatively of other high-quality film productions. But with a total budget of $ 100 million, that is of course quite in line with our expectations.
In addition to new scenes, many figures of The Mandalorian are also showing for the first time. Above all, the German actor and director Werner Herzog is presented. He seems to give the still nameless bounty hunter a particularly important job. This is played by Game of Thrones star Pedro Pascal and speaks in the new trailer even for the first time. Other appearances include Gina Carano as rebel Cara Dune and Carl Weathers as a bounty hunter guild boss Greef Carga. Taika Waititi will lend voice to the battle-hardened droid IG-11.
The storyline begins 5 years after the fall of the Empire that occurred in Star Wars: Episode 6. At this time, the first order is already forming, which will later become a dark power. Meanwhile, the Mandalorian bounty hunter follows his dodgy job. He comes here again and again in conflict with his orders and his own morality. Former Imperial Governor Moff Gideo seems to be watching him closely. A bitter enmity arises, which will have dangerous consequences for both.
The Mandalorian launches on November 12, 2019 in USA only with the streaming service Disney Plus. In Germany, the service is expected to start only at the beginning of next year. Before that, on December 18, 2019, Star Wars 9: The Rise of Skywalker will be on display. The latest trailer for The Mandalorian can now be found in our video player under this text.
